To become a member you must a) like horses and b) like history. That's pretty much it, perhaps that's why we have so much riff raff hanging around...
We jest.
Rebellion pride themselves on being a very relaxed, open, and accepting group in the re-enactment world. Our motto is to have fun and that's exactly what we try to provide in our mix of training sessions and socials across the year - and of course the shows themselves! We do have a few little, tiny guidelines you should know when considering membership with us.
Becoming a rider: We do require that members who are wanting to ride are regular riders or have a long history of riding. You must be able to walk, trot and canter comfortably in open fields. You don't need to have your own horse as we hire ours from the wonderful Lottie Crocker Ltd., but if you do have your own that's absolutely fine - we will help you train your brave steed.
If you're not a rider that doesn't mean you can't join! Our Groundcrew team are vitally important to our operation and have just as much fun yanking people off horses (safely), being run down by horses (scary but still safely), and fighting against other infantry at shows.
We do recommend coming along to one of our training sessions first before signing up to membership so you can get a feel for the crew and, if you are a rider, ensuring you feel like this is a hobby you'd like to pursue. Feel free to get in touch with us about joining through our facebook or directly at [email protected].
